HIV/AIDS: The organisation objective is To Improve the quality of life of people infected and affected by HIV/AIDS in the community through establishment of various income generating projects that will enable the infected and affected people to cope with income challenges and thus manage their life in sustainable way; In Tanzania and all its settings, certain groups face disproportionate risk for HIV infection and onward transmission. Even in areas with low HIV prevalence rates, men who have sex with men, sex workers, people who inject drugs and transgender individuals also termed “key populations” are consistently at greater risk. Although there is general agreement that the epidemic often is concentrated among these groups, health interventions and health policies have lagged in effectively addressing their needs for prevention, care, and treatment. The foundation works to Improve the quality of life of people infected and affected by HIV/AIDS though supporting, capacity building on Income generating activities (IGA) and provision of various moral, materials support so that they can live healthy life and get the income that will support them to get their dairy basic needs such as food, shelter and clothes And having a little income to support their families in terms of the cost of uniforms, books, shoes and school fees that most of them is beyond their means/capacity.
Example of the project implemented to improve the quality of life of people infected and affected by HIV/AIDS was for Enhancing Economic empowerment for HIV/AIDS infected and affected women in Mbeya rural district.
Operational research: This is one of the organisation objectives. The organisation Implement operational research in addressing youth and community issues. This will deepen understanding of the factors and socio cultural dimensions driving the epidemic, root cause of poverty, its impacts and improve the quality and use of data in programme management and document good practices for the betterment of the community and its people at large. The solution and recommended identified community issues helps different organizations and development partners to have a starting point in finding the measures and solution of the identified problems.
Education Support to Orphans and Most vulnerable children: To support access to education among most vulnerable children and orphans is one among the thematic areas of the organisation. The organisation is working on this so as to solve the problems and challenges of the Orphans and Most Marginalized Children in the community through provision of formal and non educational support that will enable them to sustain their life after being dependants. The education support provided to the Most Vulnerable Children are vocational education, primary and secondary education. The project provides support to the families in terms of the cost of uniforms, books, shoes and school fees that most of them is beyond their means/capacity as well as conduct capacity building on running various Income Generating activities (IGA) to care takers/guardians.
Sustainable agriculture and livestock development; The Foundation works to promote sustainable agriculture and livestock development. In most of the regions in the countries, people lack knowledge on the sustainable agriculture and livestock development. In that way, the organisation work to make sure that agriculture and livestock is implemented in sufficiency and sufficient way for the sustainable. The projects under this objective have contributed much to make people conduct a sustainable agriculture and livestock (animals keeping).
Environmental and ecological conservation and management: The Foundation focus to promote environmental conservation and ecological management through implementing various project that conserve environment and ecology. Through this objective, the foundation has implemented and implementing the number of projects like environmental conservation through beekeeping, trees planting in water sources, planting fruits trees in primary schools and implementing water and sanitation and hygiene (WASH) programmes.
Resources mobilization skills and job creation: To equip communities with resources mobilization skills and to create job through the utilization of local available resources are ones of the areas that the foundation work on.
It is fact that, every year it is estimated that over 800,000 young men and women enter the labour market in Tanzania. These include school and college graduates and people who have migrated from rural to urban areas. Work is the key to dignity, economic empowerment and poverty reduction which all contribute to an equitable, inclusive and sustainable society. Unemployment amongst youth is still on the rise with around 13.4 percent of Tanzanians aged between 15 and 34 years old currently unemployed.
TA Foundation understood the challenges facing young workers (men and women) in Tanzania and decided to equip communities with resources mobilization skills and to create job through the utilization of local available resources through training on implementing various Income Generating projects(Activities) for both the livelihoods programme and natural resource management projects. Through this objective some of the then unemployed youth and women have became now an entrepreneurs, small scale farmers, beekeepers, agribusiness man/woman.
